Ektron

The Ektron project was a very interesting project indeed. Ekton is a major player in the Content Management System game and I've worked on many projects that were created using their system. Ektron hired The Berndt Group to create a design for the new website and to create the HTML templates. Once completed Ektron took the templates that I built and added them to their development.

At the end of the day most of the templates that I wrote wound up being very different from what appears on their site. Ektron offers a feature called page builder which allows the non-tech savvy user to essentially create their own web pages based on a set of rules. Unfortunately the way it works is it adds extra markup which junks up the clean code a little but I have yet to see similar functionality that doesn't do this.

Once again a major issue with this site was support for IE6. We had a lot of things in the design that took a little leg work to get working but I'm very glad to say that we did it. When this site launched it looked amazing and both the client, Ektron, and those of us at The Berndt Group were very pleased with the results.
